Depends if you are making a custom joysticks, like me then you don't need a Y-Splitter cable, just one 15pin Joypad cable..

Here are the relevant pins to get X-Axis 1,2, Y-Axis 1,2

Pin #1 - Potentiometer Common lug Joystick "A"
Pin #3 - Joystick "A" X Axis
Pin #6 - Joystick "A" Y Axis)
Pin #9 - Potentiometer Common lug Joystick "B"
Pin #11 - Joystick "B" X axis
Pin #13 - Joystick "B" Y axis

Connect Pin #1 and Pin #3 to a pot for X-Axis 1
Connect Pin #1 and Pin #6 to a pot for Y-Axis 1
Connect Pin #9 and Pin #11 to a pot for X-Axis 2
Connect Pin #9 and Pin #13 to a pot for Y-Axis 2
