: I just finished mounting my joysticks to a 3/4 inch piece of pressboard covered with laminate. I was going to use through bolts on the panel but figured I could get a better look by just mounting the joysticks from the bottom with wood screws. They mounted fine and they play great (I put it through a few days of abuse with the family in town). I have searched the archives and the message board and found that a few of you have done this but there is no follow-up to this method. I am curious as to whether this will be strong enough for my home machine? Has anyone used this method and had problems, if so please give me some pros and cons, it is no skin off my back to go back and use through bolts to prevent future problems.

: TIA

Since many CPs were made out of particle board, I would expect that using wood screws wouldn't hold up well over a long time. The screws would eventually work loose. Using through bolts would hold up better over time and a lot of use.

This is my opinion. I'm no expert on this stuff.
