Yeah, that works...I just got done playing about 15 games of qbert. This will save me from trying to make the dedicated 4-way rotatable.

Thanks..

: : I think I tried that Q-bert config and it didn't seem right. I'll try it again.

: Here is what I use:
: Right: Right Down
: Left : Left Up
: Up : Up Right
: Down : Down Left

: make sure it has both directions listed like it is listed above (doesn't matter which comes first)

: : thx

: : : : : Hello! I'm building a new control panel for my machine and I'm wondering if there are any issues to having two joysticks wired to the same controller.

: : : : Should not be any problem having two joysticks wired in parallel with each other

: : : : : I'm going to have a dedicated 4-way controller in the middle and I would like to wire it with my player 1 joystick. Or should I use button controls for buttons 7 and 8 on my IPAC since I'm not using them anyway.... your suggestions, as always, are appreciated.

: : : : Im looking to do a similar hookup with a 4-way (Pac Man etc..) that I can also rotate 45 degrees (Q-bert) and will probably wire it in parallel with the player 1 stick.

: : : Qbert can easily be played with an 8-way joystick. Just configure Mame to only accept the diagonals for the movement directions.

: : : : Never know what you might want to add later to use up those #7 and #8 buttons (like maybe, a triggered joystick?) :)
