I spliced off 12v leads from an AT computer power supply. Just take one of the power leads that you would normally plug into a hard drive or CD-ROM drive and use the yellow/black combo. You can see pics of what I'm talking about here:

It doesn't matter which prong on the lamp you connect the yellow wire (12v) to and which you connect the black (ground) to, since there's no polarity. Just hook one of the wires to one of the prongs and the other wire to the other prong. Presto, that's it!
