:Also, I was wondering if the LS-30 will work with a wood control panel - they look like they are made for metal control panels.

I can't compare the LS30 to the Happs rotary since I only have LS30, but I can give you any details required about their structure and mounting. I have 3 of them (one is just for scrap, bent shaft, rusted mounting bracket, etc) and so I temporarily mounted the 2 of them to a little control panel (the picture should be on my site somewhere under the development of the interface.

I added an image link here to the profile of the LS30 mounted on my scrap temporary panel. The wood is only 1/4" thick, and the bolts I used are 1 inch. Everything seems fine to me, I just would like to use bolts that have the smooth flat tops on them instead of normal screwdriver heads that get in the way of gameplay, but for now, whatever works!

I can take more pictures if needed for comparison to the Happs units for mounting.
