I did get vsyncmame yesaterday and it solved all my problems. I want to thank every one who offered up this advice. The vsyncmame has better sidewinder support built in already.
Now my cabinet is working with 2 joys, 6 buttons per player, 4 start buttons and 4 coin buttons without using a keyboard at all. It is all run off of sidewinders.
I do have a hacked keyboard that I am going to connect the enter, p, tab, esc, etc... to. But all actual gaming buttons are off the joysticks! :)
