I guess I was thinking along the lines of cards that were known to work, and not really thinking about how much memory they had.
I am not by any means an expert in video card technology, but I thought the increased memory on video cards allowed for higher resolutions with higher bit color while maintaining an acceptable framerate?? I personally have used an 8MB and 16MB video card in my own arcade cabinet, and I could not see any difference.
I really don't know your application, though...
