I've got a PCI128 that I had trouble with. In the end it worked by changing the irq in the autoexec.bat.
hope it helps,

: ...and then I bought an AWE64. I was able to make it work -- eventually. I had to remove my modem and SCSI card to do so. The problem is more than likely due to IRQ conflicts -- specifically #5.
: If you have a modem, remove it and/or make sure it is not using IRQ 5.

: : I got a SB 128 PCI because Creative Labs says it can emulate old SB16 for legacy MS-DOS programs, but can't make it to work. It installs in Windows butI have no sound in a DOS box or in pure DOS. I've sent them a description of the problem but while I wait an answer, have anyone had this problem? What solution you applied?
: : Also I heard some Raine games run too fast and out of sync just because of PCI soundcards; do you know if this problem affects MAME too?
