: OK, Got a ATX motherboard and power supply in the cabinet. How can I make it so the motherboard automatically comes on when the cabinet is powered up?

If it's a relatively new Motherboard, thay all have a feature now, in the BIOS setup screen under the "power management" settings that turn the Mobo on automatically when power is lost to the system. It's designed to allow the PC to restart in the event you lose power.

I utilized this feature, by wiring a standard light switch just under the control panel, wired to the main power line. When you click start, shutdown, and shut down the PC, the PC prolly shuts itself off, if I'm right. You then cut the main power switch off. With the proper setting in the BIOS, the PC will see that as a loss of poweer to the PS, and when everything else starts up when you flip the main power switch on, so will the PC.

(PS, if you are working in a Pure DOS environment, this also works).

Let me know if this works for you, if you have that particular setting in your BIOS, it should.
