: OK, Got a ATX motherboard and power supply in the cabinet. How can I make it so the motherboard automatically comes on when the cabinet is powered up?

On ATX power supplies, pin 14 (green wire) is the signal line that tells the power supply to turn on. If you connect pin 14 (green wire) and a black ground (13 or 15) together it will tell the power supply to turn on when power is applied.

I cut the green wire, connected the power supply side to ground, and left the main board side unconnected. Works like a charm. The side effect is that your power switch on the PC will no longer function.

Since you could damage your power supply or PC if you connect the wrong wires together, do this modification at your own risk.
