Hey charlie-

There's a difference between being curious, and being a pest. Asking how to do something, or asking for help is generally being curious. Asking the same questions multiple times and refusing to do any actual research for yourself is being a pest. You aren't going to get anywhere if you aren't willing to do some work yourself.

One thing that I did, but which seems to be a less popular approach, is I purchased two Gravis Gamepad Pros. They have a special connector so you can have up to 4 of them hooked up at once, and they all work at the same time. I basically took the circut-boards right out of there, and soldered directly to the solder points. It was pretty easy, and it works fairly well. The only problem is that some of the front-ends (mainly the DOS based ones like ArcadeOS) don't have support for the mame -joy grip command. It's fairly easy to hack out a little exe that will make it work though.

So basically, either get an IPAC, or get some gamepad pros. The pads are like 20 bucks each, so it'd probably be a bit cheaper then the IPAC (but you have to do some semi-hard soldering)
