I think the +5V can power lots of items I am not truely sure, but if you look at Jackpot machines, they power an awful lots of bulbs, so I be guessing that +5V and +12V can power lots of of 5V and 12 applications, even on Jamma there is the coin door and main board, and maybe in some cases sound ampilifier.
I think modern power supplys discharge any power that is not used, I could be mistaken, but I believe old powers burnt out due to not enough power usuage..
I am only running my coin door light at the moment too..
