I have the dvd decoder card you guys are talking about. It is the creative dxr3 brand name but it is the same as the hollywood for the most part (I have confirmed this from creative on their newsgroup). The tv out on that card is only for dvd playback and will not display the windows output on the tv. I was hoping for the same thing but to no avail. So if you want windows on a tv don't buy this card. However does do excellent dvd playback.

Hope this helps,

Jim K.

: Didn't MaximumPC also use that $20,000 Pioneer plasma display for the TV that accepted a 15 pin vga input? That is really just an expensive monitor, and not a true "TV" like we would use...
: Besides, the ATI had video out anyway... I still think the MPEG decoder card is just that, and not really a TV-out card.

: I've been wrong before, though....

: : Heh, maybe, but if I remember right didn't MaximumPC use a hollywood for there computer, if I remeber the wiring scheme it went from the ati to the hollywood to the tv, so I'm assuming that if you plug your existing vid card into the hollywood it'll work. I could be wrong though.
