Check out some of the examples on this site (there are some excellent ones and some not-so-excellent ones) along with the articles and message board. Your project looks like it would be able to use the I-PAC and OPTI-PAC interfaces, which are quite easy to use. Check out:

: Also, I want to throw a trackball (Crystal Castles, Marble Madness, Missile Command) in, and a spinner (Tempest is my main reason for doing this!!!!). So, please throw in any suggestions: a 2 stick (3 buttons each) panel with trackball/spinner in the middle oughta do just fine, right?
