It the vertical in horizontal and vice-versa which appear to be the problems. 640x480 on a 20" monitor is BIG! : - Outrun : I tried Outrun the other day, and it was SLOW -- about 30-40%. I am running MAME "out of the box" without any tweaks at all. I've been concentrating on other things, and I figure I can go after performance later. : - KLOV : I was in touch with the Keeper on Monday, November 20. Both emails were replied to almost instantly, and he posted my pics later that day. : - PCB : As fate would have it, 2 NBA Jam Extreme PCB's were on EBay the week before I brought the cab home. If I had a little foresight, I could have jumped at that opportunity. I might be in line for one that has a bad sound board (I have a sound board), or I can by one from the Great Western Trading company for $150+shipping. I'll have to see tonight whether or not my machine will support it. The problem is with the fixed freq. monitor in conjunction with an old video card (intense3D 100). Many of the vertical games show a scrambled screen when the monitor is set to be horizontal. I don't know about reverse (horiz games on a vert monitor). : : I forgot you were dealing with a fixed frequency monitor. I have a 17" multisync horizontal, but I don't rotate it for the vertical games (but I play them at a different resolution). With fixed frequency, you would have to play with the screen settings on the monitor and that could be a pain in a cocktail cab. Advance MAME may help with this, although I personally have never been able to set it up correctly. : : : : : Outrun is definately out of the league of this computer, but pole position isn't! : : Try Outrun on it! I have a Pentium 200 MMX with 48 Meg Ram and 4M PCI Video cheap Yamaha ISA sound and Outrun runs (as best I remember) at about 90% at frameskip 11. It's fun to play although I have to use the mouse due to no dedicated spinner or arcade wheel hooked up. : : When I told him, he wound up giving me a NBA Jam Extreme cabinet for free! All I had to do was drive 2 miles and pick it up from his house. It came w/o a PCB, but it has a 25" monitor, and 4 sticks with 4 buttons each. That's going to be NEXT project -- a PCtoJAMMA conversion. I uploaded pics of it to KLOV. : : Too Cool, BTW, when did you upload the pics.
