The problem was just the ground wire - I added a connector to the 'E' pin on the Circuit Board, and comnected it to the Sync Ground in the VGA cable and the picture came out!!!!! :) :) :)
Now, I just have to find a degaussing tool (I get the purple color around the sides - kinda like someone held a maginet to the monitor)
