: Well, I’ve come to a decision. I am starting a new project. My old cab was, for the most part, completed about a year ago. It consisted of an old Alpine Ski cabinet, with a u3100, and controls interfaced with an iPac. The VGA cable, and USB cable ran out the back to my iMac rev. A.

: For my next project, I am planing on getting a bigger screen cabinet, and interfacing an internal dedicated computer. Unfortunately, this means I will have to sell my old cab. Here is my first question, do you think I would be better of repackaging the u3100 and auctioning it off (or selling it back to happs if they would take it), or trying to sell the cabinet as a whole? Considering the setup, the main attraction is the u3100. All the other parts could be obtained for a relatively low price. Selling the cab as a whole would also make the shipping cost enormous. I hate to sell it, but I can’t see having a quality u3100 just setting around gathering dust.

: My second question involves the dedicated computer. Obviously being a mac user, I have never assembled my own computer. I looked through the examples page, and figured that a 400mhz celleron would serve the purpose well. I went to pricewatch.com to look for price estimates and realized, I wasn’t for sure what exactly I was looking for. Am I buying a motherboard? Then what else? A 6 gig or so IDE hard drive? A sound card? I still plan on using an iPac for control interfacing. Is that all I need? I have no idea where to start! Sorry for asking so many questions, I feel like a newbie again :) Any help you could give is much appreciated. Thanks

For lower cost video and sound cards try ATI Xpert@Play98 and SoundBlaster Live! Value.
