I can see how it would be easier to just stick a PC in a cab, case and all. But, if building it from scratch, why not just buy a power supply, a handfull of standoffs, and mount the motherboard inside the cab like a PCB? I'm new to this and haven't messed with a cabinet since college, but it seems like you'd have a lot more space in there doing it this way. The only addition would be building a small bracket to secure the video, sound, and any other cards onto.
