Off the top of my head, for a basic functioning IBM clone you want motherboard, hard drive, sound card, video card, 1.44meg floppy if desired, cdrom if desired, keyboard I assume is still needed despite IPac to get things set up, a case, RAM (probably won't come with motherboard), the actual cpu chip (might not come with motherboard), monitor? Mouse? Speakers? Starting to run out of ideas so I must have the essentials covered by now.

Whenever I'm buying a new set of parts, I always forget the RAM and I wonder where an extra few hundred disappeared.
