: how do i test the keyboard matrix without the chance of frying the circuitboard? what is a multimeter and how does it work?????

Hi, again

First you need to keep the two plastic sheet that were in the keyboard. (You do not need the one that have just holes in it)

There are two way to make your matrix:
way #1:

Mark each small circle on your plastic sheet to the key they should correspond.

Try to follow the path of each wire for each plastic sheet...

To illustrate let's say that:

Plastic #1 have 18 wires we name each wire
A1, A2, A3..., A18.

We notice that wire A1 correspond to the
following keys 3,e,d,c,space,r,f,v.

You do the same for A2...A18

When it's done... do the same with plastic2
by example B1, B2, B3...B8

The goal is to acheive to a coordinate like
to get the "UP" key you must put A4 and B7.

Way#2:

You do te same as way#1 but you speed up the process by testing the conductivity so I can say it demands less to your eyes...

Try to find the this mode (Conectivity) on your multimeter. You can tell when you touch the two wire of your multimeter the display show a needle that move each time the wire of the multimeter are joint together.

To give you an estimate of time...

I can say 3 to 4 hour to validate your matrix
and document it well...

bye
