hey there. i'm building a stand alone arcade control panel. i've already built the box and plopped the controls in there and all that. i'm at the wiring phase now. for the interface i've got an i-pac, damn cool little device i must say. now it gives some basic instructions with it and i appreciate that but i'm still a little scared about frying my motherboard or something. i have no knowledge in electronics and am horribly lazy. besides i need not know too much i think. just a few questions here.

okay so it says to daisy chain all the ground connectors on the switches together and then wire that onto either GRND on the i-pac. then you run a wire from each "NO" (normal open right?) on each switch to whatever button input you want on the i-pac. just to clarify... what the hell is a ground for? and when i daisy chain the switches together, they can just form a line of wire from the first switch through all switches and ending on one GRND (either one it doesn't matter right?) on the i-pac. it doesn't have to form a circle or anything right? also, i have access to a volt-meter here (not that i really know what the hell it does). can i use this to test my stuff before i plug it in? how?

please tell me if something is horribly wrong with my layout here. i just wanted to make sure before going ahead. when i'm done i'll post a few pictures to add to this great site here. thanx... Josh
