: I have a couple of questions people about MAME32. First off, How do I disable the error reporting message which requires you to press OK when I start a ROM? Im not talking about the standard, "If you do not own this ..."

The easy way: Moving the joystick left and then right will skip this. To get rid of it altogther... In DOS MAME, you can get MAME source, edit out the commands which call these screens and recompile. This should work for MAME32 assuming the source file is available and that you understand elementary programming in C. Instructions on compiling are at www.mame.net.
Another option: The arcadeOS frontend (www.pc2jamma.com) has a "no nag screens" option and will work with DOS MAME in a Windows DOS box, but I don't know if it will support MAME32.

Second question, How do I save High Scores? I have read through the readme files with no luck. I did read the part about highscore.dat file, but Im not sure what type of file this is. Do I just make a generic ASCII text file called that? Thanks in advance!

NO! Go to www.mame.net or www.arcadeathome.com and look under MAME Utilities. There will be a file called hiscore.zip which contains the files hiscore.dat and readme.txt. Unzip the file and move hiscore.dat into the main MAME32 directory. You also need a subdirectory of MAME32 named HI.

Note that not all games support hiscore save, even with this, and some support this with NVRAM automatically.

Hope this helps.
