The main problem is the connector itself. It has to be able to mount manually, like a serial or parallel port connector.
For instance, when I upgrad ean AT-style PC, the connectors that come with the motherboards I unscrew the hex-shaped screw terminals, and mount them directly to the pre-cut-out holes (the ones you have to punch out) in the case itself. It's a connector like that I need.
