Maybe you are running the previous version of Mame32 ( b7 ? ) so it works. In the current beta version for DOSMame and Mame32 it's messed up and does exactly what you describe.
: I have just downloaded Space Harrier, and when I run it in Dos, the character always is moving right. I cannot move it any other way. Yet when I load it up in Mame32, It works. BTW, I am Using The Keyboard.
