There are several DOS frontends. The best known is probably ArcadeOS but I just love AdvanceMenu!

I cant say this enough, AdvanceMenu totally rocks in my cabinet!!! There is no competition if you ask me. If you have an arcade monitor, fixed freq. monitor or a tv, go with AdvanceMame and AdvanceMenu, if you have a multisync monitor go with regular MAME (or AdvanceMame if you want to fiddle with the AdvanceMame configuration) and AdvanceMenu.
Sorry if I am getting to exited but I really find AdvanceMenu that magnificent!
