I have a cooling fan in my cabinet, although I might have done it with a bit of overkill. I've got a maybe 80mm ball bearing high quality electronics cooling fan mounted on the top angled back of my cabinet with it blowing outwards. I also have a non-electronic thermostat set in there to trip on at about 80 F. It seems to work well, the fan only comes on if I have the cabinet on for more than 45 minutes or so, and it shuts itself off maybe 20 minutes after the cabinet itself is turned off. I'll have pictures up at http://www.nuxx.net as soon as I get around to putting my page up again. I don't know if it's NECESSARAY to have this, but I have a largish 17" monitor and such running inside of the case, so it seems like a good idea. Oh, and remember to put a guard on the fan. Any decent electronics shop should carry nice fans and matching guards for them. I don't personally think the foam filter is too necesserary, it'll just get dusty fast and not allow any air to move through, but cleaning your cabinet occasionally definately is a good idea.
