Not very often
Most TV's degauss when you turn the TV on from a
cold start not when in standby via remote on and
off. So it is a good idea to turn off the tv at
the wall or on the tv itself every once a while
to degauss the screen next time you turn it on. The only time you would
have to manualy degauss the screen with a wand
is if the colour goes patchy, but this does not
happen very much unless you move your tv alot or
if there is a strong magnetic field near the tv.
