I had many of the same problems. I had hacked two standard VGA cables and both were the cause of my rolling/ lack of hold. I wound up soldering my own pc2jamma cable from a radioshack male connector and connecting the other end to my jamma fingerboard. That turned out to be the problem. i will post the part number tonight.
