PC Automag light gun - is this new?

I saw a product description for a lightgun that plugs into a serial port. It comes with House of the Dead and Virtua Squad (Cop) 2 - conversions of the arcade lightgun games. I'm pretty sure those games used mouse control. Is this a new product? And think the gun could be used in MAME? or other emus with mouse/lightgun support?
