Need opinions on how 'hard' a pushbutton should be to press...

Hi all,

I'm looking at possibly altering my source for pushbuttons (e.g. NOT Happs!!), and interested in your preference of button feel as it may help me decide which way to go.

Do you like a firmly sprung button that requires a little more effort to press and requires a deliberate 'hit', or prefer a button with a softer spring that engages with a very light touch?

To me, the harder button would offer very positive feedback that it has 'clicked' but possibly tire your fingers/hand quickly, making gameplay for long periods of time uncomfortable.

On the other hand (no pun intended!), a softer button can be a little too sensitive and vague in its feedback, which would probably annoy many gamers as they'd end up with accidental button presses at the wrong moment!

Up until recently I honestly thought that buttons were buttons, but in testing a sample of 'Brand X' buttons(I won't name the company yet) I've found that the springs in them are much harder that in any of the Happ buttons.

So if you have an opinion to express, I'd appreciate if you could let me know what it is!

TIA,
ChrisW
