Namaco Collections and others like them are written from the ground up for Playstation, and only the older classics are actually emulated, SmashTV was ported instead of being emulated.

The only game systems that could run un-optimised mame at decent speed for most games are the Dreamcast and PS2. Not sure on the Dreamcast. Now Vantage on the other hand might be portable to PSX, since it's designed to run on 486's supports samples for all games (from what I've heard, the PSX cannot dynamically generate sounds), and other tweaks not locked to PC hardware.

If you have C programing background, do a search for "Playstation Programing". If I remember right there's a Timex/Sinclair 1000 emulator for PSX.

: Mame...the best programm what I ever see...
: Is present salso for many systems...AMIGA,MAC,PC WinCE DOS ,WIN32...ecc....
: Time ago I see also one version for the N64 (Was one rom ) meaby a fake...I don'T Know...I have downloaded but I never Used....

: Now My question...I try 2 CDROMS for the Sony Playstation with a collection of old Coinops...and are thesame quality of the MAME+roms on my PC..

: I LIKE to ask...BUT is not any version of MAME that can work also on the PLAYSTATION ???

: ..because SURE , Mame on the PSX CAN work Very, very well...
