I had this same question as I was building my cocktail cabinet. I was skeptical of one of the answers I got, but tried it anyway...and it worked.

The problem your seeing is normal. What you want to do is have the monitor in the position you want it to be mounted (on it's back) for a little while before you fire up the computer. The problem won't be there. Even if you flip it over when the computer is on and the color goes wacky, it'll end up working itself out. Just leave it off in that postition.

You'll get a lot of people giving you overly technical solutions. This one is free and easy. So try it first. Just put it on it's back when you go to bed tonight and then fire it up in the morning. You'll see. It'll be fine.

p.s. I had the problem with (2) different monitors and this fixed 'em both times.
