My setup works well. IF you're using the cabinet for gaming primarily, a 25, 27 or 32" TV with Svideo, is a perfect solution.

I am using an external scan converter that works flawlessly in all resolutions up to 800x600 unlimited colors. With larger font sizes for icons and menu choices, it works for basic windows (I certainly wouldn't use it for CAD), and games look absolutely terrific.

I've tried it with games like Need for Speed III, Star Wars Episode 1 racer, all MAME games including vector games, and horizontal games. And this is using MAME DOS. AdvanceMame would probably yield awesome results as well.

The Scan converter is cheap, the AITech MultiPro 2000 is under $ 250, and a TV with Svideo, even a 32" is under $500. The nice thing is you can piggyback an SVIDEO monitor for PC stuff (You can use an extra long cable and put it somewhere in the room away from the cabinet).

I am having trouble with pictures of the screens because my arcade room is poorly lit and the flash is distorting the pictures by reflecting off the screen.

I will post them when I work out the lighting problems, but trust me, it's been great. I've been working this way for 3 weeks now with unfettered results.

I hope you find a solution as satisfying.
