OK the first thing is to get the monitor working. I set up my monitor using Arcadeos. If it loads up and the screen doesn't roll plus fits the screen you have the connection right.

But if you start getting signal failure it's due to an offical MAME problem not the Monitor.
The next version of MAME to be released very soon has all of the memory faults fixed. (This bug has been in the last 3 releases of MAME.)
Then not long after Advance MAME will have all those bugs ironed too
That's if all goes well! :))

: Now I'm getting a weird error when I try to launch a game from arcadeos..the error reads
: EXITING DUE TO SIGNAL SIGILL
: then it says
: INVALID OP CODE AT EP002C4054

: : Thanks, I'll give it a whirl.. I have both the vsync and hsync wires twisted together..is that what you mean by the hack? Please advise...

: : Thanks again!!
: : : Sounds like a 19". You probably won't go wrong w/ a hclock of 15.75 and a vclock of 60. If that works, try expanding your vclock to 50-60 and see if you can get anything in the PAL ranges (~50Hz). If not it's probably a standard NTSC arcade monitor. Also, make sure you have your vga hack cable connected to the Negative sync and not positive on the back of the monitor.

: : : : Help!! I have an arcade monitor and I'm wondering what the hclock and vclock is for it so I can configure Advance Mame. The only markings I can find on the back are 19VMJP22, 19VMNP22, AND 510VJB22. I'm getting bad vertical roll with vertical games so I started using Advance Mame to correct the problem. If it's any help the cabinet was a Moon Patrol that was converted to Altered Beast but the monitor has Dig Dug burned into it.
: : : : Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!!
