4.5" trackball assembley looks a little un-sturdy. Is it?

Hi. I'm looking to get one of the Happ trackball assemblies. I'd naturally like to get the larger 4.5" trackball, but looking at the exploded diagram, it looks a lot less sturdy than their 3" setup. Can someone who's dealt with both give me a comparison of the two?
