I've thought about this before, but I think it would be easier if someone could write a windows "Game Device" driver for a trackball connected to a serial port. Instead of treating it as a mouse, it would be a game device like a joystick and recognized by MAME32 automatically.
No special hardware or hookups would be required.
After all we have several programs that make joysticks act as mice, why can't someone do the reverse and make a mouse act like a joystick?
I wish I could write drivers. :(

: Has anyone posted how to connect a Happs Trackball to the joystick port?
: This seems like the easiest way of getting 2 distinct trackballs for Windows Mame.
: Thanks in advance,
