Druin has a controller for the 12 position rotary ones. I have one connected to my IPAC. It simulates key strokes for left / right turn (twist).
I really wanted to play Xybots and it doesn't allow the use of dial (mouse / spinners) to twist, only keystorkes. With the IPAC this was ideal. So far it seems to work well.
