: Hello. I would like to know whether modern arcade cabinets use tv sets or rgb monitors. I mean cabinets like the ones made by SEGA with 25' or 28' screens.

rgb monitors for 28" and below, most are standard resolution (the same res as a TV), but more and more games are going medium res(higher res than standard).

: Another question I have is about those big cabinets we can see nowadays holding also modern games. I mean those with flat 50' screens. I would like to know about this kind of screens. One can see that they're different from normal CRT screens (it's not crystal and the quality of the image is worse, specially when you're not in front of the screen). I've also seen these screens used for big tv sets. Does this technology have a name???? How does it work?

50" plus games use projection TVs. Projection TVs make the image in the back and project it onto the screen in the front, kinda like movie theaters except the projector is behind the screen instead of infront of it.
