OK. I am using a set of speakers pointing downward from my "marquee" area. This is then reflected off of the angled glass in my cab, and hits you right in the face! I have put a powered sub in the cabinet, and I must say... even Pac-Man sounds cool. Don't crank the sub up just to make it louder, louder usually isn't better. Just enough volume on the sub to hear it and feel it a little. It sounds great!

As for cabinet width. I built my cabinet from scratch and it holds a 27" TV. What you need to find out first is the REAL width of the TV or whatever you are going to use. By this I mean, my 27" TV, with the housing and everything (makes it a few inches wider than just the screen) fits nicely into a 26" width (on the inside)cabinet. By that, I mean that my shelf that it sits on is 26" wide, and the sides of the cabinet are thus 26" apart. It is actually a little more than 27" wide on the outside of the cabinet, but that accounts for the width of the sides. Hope that makes sense.

I used LuSiD's Arcade Flashback site as a basis for my cabinet. I took his basic plans, modified them quite a bit to make the cabinet more interesting, and went from there. It turned out very nice. Someday I will get around to posting pictures.

: Do you know of any cabinet project that uses a couple of speakers plus a big subwoofer in the base of the cabinet? It would be really cool. If I had to make my own cabinet, it would be like that, and I'd like to know how good this would sound. And.. do you think the front speakers sound better on the top or placed looking slightly upwards in front of the joysticks. If you realize, that's the modern way used in today's cabinets in opposition to the classic old position. Finally, do you have an idea of the width of a standar cabinet built for holding a 25' screen?
