Hi Folks,

My Capcom Impress Sitdown JAMMA cabinet that has been modified into a MAME cabinet is for sale. It has a 29" rotatable Hitachi monitor, according to the owners manual at least. The actual tube is made by Toshiba. The monitor is currently set at 15KHz standard resolution but it can be configured to be a 25KHz medium res monitor simply by switching a wire harness on the monitor pcb. I have tested this and it does work. The unit was built in 1996 or 1997 as the copyright on the owners manual was 1996 and the Toshiba tube had a '96 date on it also.

I have replaced all the original Japanese sticks and buttons as they were nothing like Happ buttons. The control panel now has two Wico leaf joys and 6 Happ buttons per player. There are two Happ start buttons as well. The coin slot works although it probably needs to be adjusted as it sometimes eats quarters. I also have added a Happ button on the side of the unit to enter credits instead of having to insert quarters all the time.

When I got the unit the monitor had a jitter problem but I finally fixed it, it was a cracked solder joint on the monitor pcb. The picture looks good and I get no rolling whatsoever. The monitor does have a few scuff marks on it but they aren't visible during normal gameplay. If you look for the scuff marks while playing a game with a lot of black in it, yes you may see them but when I play Galaga or Berzerk I don't see them.

The Jamma harness is still intact and I will be including my VGA to JAMMA cable. The encoder is a Hagstrom KE72-T and the trackball is a Happs 2 1/4". The spinner is a Fultra spinner. All you need to do is hook up a computer and the Mame machine will come to life. If you need a computer, I may sell the computer with the cabinet but it's currently not inside the machine and is my main computer so I'll have to get what it would cost to replace the computer.

I am currently running win98se DOS (boot gui=0) with Advanced Mame 37b8 and ArcadeOS 2.41.

The reason I am wanting to sell the cabinet is not because I don't like it or MAME anymore, I do! We are going to be rearranging some furniture in the house and the machine is in my computer room now. While it is in good condition, it has been used in an arcade before I got it (except of course the new controls I installed) and the fit and finish is not quite worthy of it being placed in our den where if I sell it, an ArcadePC may go.

I live in southwestern IN (Evansville) and although I rather not ship, I will if necessary. I would be more than willing to help load it on a truck or if within a few hours of my house, I could deliver.

Please respond with any questions via email.
