Spinner/Steering Wheel

Greetings,

Has anyone tried making a steering wheel that would attach to the spinner for racing games? Is the extra weight/leverage too much for the spinner shaft to deal with? Perhaps something small and lightweight (not the greatest but better than nothing!)
