3/4" Board not feeling sturdy? In what way? Is it wobbling or bowing? Perhaps it is spanning too large an area without any underneath support? Or is it just the general feel of the wood you don't like? That can be fixed with some nice paint and about 8 coats of verathane (in well ventilated area :)

: When I bought my cab, it had a metal control panel. It was a 2 player 2 button a piece layout. I added a button below each of them making it a 2 player 4 button a piece layout. Of course, being metal, it was quite a challenge. Later I decided to make multiple control panels to suit different games. I went and got 3/4 inch press board, and assebled a control pannel. The problem is, it feels less sturdy than the metal panel. So much so, that I switched back to the metal panel. My question is, how can I make a sturdy feeling wood panel. The press board i bought, was the best they had. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
