I prefer the leafswitches. I prefer the early eighties games and they just feel more authentic. Also I like the smoothness of them. Especially when you have to make lots of circle like movements as in Gyruss or the way I play it in 1942 etc.
If you want the feel of the leafswitch but with more reability you can go for the optical addons.
