: I've read a few posts here...I have some ideas but I'm not sure.

: Tron needs a spinner, a joystick and a convenient Trigger button.

: Discs of Tron needs the spinner, the joystick, one button for fire and the other button for "Defence".

: So my question to the group is this:
: I'm still in the "planning phase" of my MAME Cab and Control scheme.

: So far my ultimate-control-panel ias Two Joysticks per person, both 8 ways (Smash TV, total Carnage, etc).
: A central Spinner and a central Trackball.

: However, in order to do Tron or DOT, I'm going to need buttons on the joystick. And so I am considering adding one of the expensive Haaps Trigger-Control (Tron like) joysticks with the dual buttons, to interface with the spinner.

: So I'm curious...what do you all think.....worthwihle or not? I figure its still cheaper than buying dedicated cabs, but I know I'm gonna need a LOT of real-estate for all that plus 6 or 7 buttons per player ;)

The flat out easiest thing to do is to pick up an existing tron or Disks of Tron control panel from EBay and wire that up.

I would also recommend using interchangeable control panels. That way you can have all the controls you really want, without having to cram them into the available real estate.
