If you are insistant on buying a convertor, think about this. Isn't it about the same price to buy a reasonably priced video card and a REAL arcade monitor with a VGA in? Or a card that supports fixed frequencies and an arcade monitor? Or a video card with TV out and a TV, if you are insistant on using a TV.

Here's the thing. I got them today, and will be testing them. I figure, that if it works even fairly well (for the classics anyway) I can buid a super-mini cabinet, with a 5" or 9" color TV and use a notebook computer with the scan converter inside.

It would be portable, tabletop and ultra-cool!!! This particular scan converter handles XGA/SVGA/VGA/low khz modes and SVideo. It has a wireless remote for adjustments and outputs to any format (Svideo, composite, RF, PAL or NTSC, etc.).
