: Oooh! Is the message board going to UB2k maybe? :) I tried browsing this on a modem earlier this week... Ouch...

Oh please oh please oh please say it will be so!

ANYTHING would be better than the ancient "wwwboard" software! There are so many low-cost/free web-based message boards out there these days, it would be GREAT if Saint would switch over to something that displays a list of topics, and then you click on the topic to see the whole thread... and any replies in the thread cause the topic to "float" back to the top of the list so a topic that is a day or two old doesn't get lost!

Just don't create 10 different "forums". That just makes it harder to figure out not only which forums to read, but also which forum to post in. A single forum, or MAYBE two, would be plenty for the amount of posts normally seen at this site.

My recommendation would be phpBB, which is FREE (and under active development):

http://www.phpbb.com/

It is very much like Ultimate Bulletin Board (UBB) or vBulletin, allows moderators (so multiple people can have access to delete off-topic/inflamatory posts), private messages between registered users, etc. If can be configured to require people be registered to post, or allow "anonymous" posting. Has software for HTML and "BBCode" in messages, and TONS of other features!!

or if that doesn't sound good, there is ForuMAX, which is only like $25?

http://www.forumax.com/

Then there is always:

UltraBoard 2K ($40): http://www.ub2k.com/
vBulletin: http://www.vbulletin.com/
wwwthreads: http://www.wwwthreads.com/
Dr B's Message Board ($79, and needs just perl!): http://drb-software.com/board.html
XtremeForum: http://xtremeforum.com/

and probably many others!

The ability to include HTML (for things like bold, italic, lists, PRE tags for AUTOEXEC.BAT postings, URL tags to multiple locations, etc.) and multiple images in posts would be a terrific addition to this site, IMHO. All of the above software should allow this capability, as far as I know.

I say install phpBB! :-)

P.S. I have no financial interest or any other relation to any of the above mentioned websites or software packages.
