Incorrect, I know at least Crossbow it actually optical, why they decided to put it together like that I don't know
: On the other hand, the playchoice gun games did use a true light gun system. only thing is that the screens on the mame versions are too small to have any fun but the original code for the guns is there, just have to figure out how to make it work.
There's single screen versions of Playchoice, probably all that's needed to make it work single screen is some tweking to Mame and the rom (bios?) from the single monitor version.
