I used a pole positon cab for one of my mame cabinets. You could use a button for the accelorator but I used a pot, the same system as original. I have a 2 speed shifter currently, a four speed is the same just 2 more switches. I connected the switches to joystick buttons and the pedal to the y axis. The only problem is mame works like a toggle on the shifter and that's not what you want(unless your shifter autocenters like a joystick, but then it wouldn't really be a shifter) I worked around by modifying the mame drivers for the driving games and recompiling.

: Hey People!

: Quick Question: Has any one ever incorporated driving controls (eg gear shifter, pedal) into their cabinet? I'm wondering about building a driving control for my cab, and think it would rock to have a four speed shifter next to the wheel. Just wondering if anyone has had any experience or knows anything about it.

: Also, how about the pedal? Is that basically a on/off type of switch?

: Any help would be appreciated.

: Don
