Maybe I don't exactly understand how you have it wired... but in matrix mode you will wire to like pin A and pin B (for example). You don't use the ground pins on the encoder. If that's what you are doing then forgive me. You could also just wire both pins right to the encoder (temporarily) to see if the encoder is working.

Also remember that there are 2 rows on the encoder that are identical and when attached to the SCSI cable the wire sequence will be like

A,A,B,B,C,C,D,D..... cuz the cable pins are like this.....

13579.....
2468.....

Hope i'm being clear on that.... MAil me if i'm not makin' sense.

: Matrix

: : : OK, I took a 50-pin SCSI cable and cut the end off and spliced the ends to a barrier strip, and then ran a wire from the strip to the COM on the microswitch. I plugged the end of the cable to the LP24. The encoder programs without a problem, but when I run a keytest program, it is not transmitting any of the joystick moves/button presses. Anyone have any ideas? I also have the NO wired to the common pin on the encoder. Thanks for any help!
