I was considering using a laptop with a TFT screen in my cocktail cab. The problem was that the laptops screen was designed to be looked at directly, and not at an angle. As it was going into a cocktail cab I would have been looking at the screen flat on the desk in a vertical orientation. This wasn't the optimum viewing angle (way off it I would think :-) so the contrast and colour was way off.
You might want to check what angle you would be looking at the screen against any screen you think is suitable before actually buying it.
